God created human beings in His own image. What does this mean? He created human beings so that they might remain close to Him. We learn three things about this closeness:
Closeness results in relationship.
Closeness results in peace.
Closeness results in unity.
When man becomes distant from God, 5 consequences result:
Distance results in wrongdoing.
Distance results in pride.
Distance results in shame, fear, and excuses.
Distance results in afflictions.
Distance takes away peace.
