God told the prophet Samuel, “I have chosen a new king for Israel. Now go and pour oil on his head to confirm my choice.” When the prophet, following God’s instruction, came to a man named Jesse, he thought that one of Jesse’s older sons had been chosen. But in the end, God chose the youngest son, who was still looking after the sheep.
From this we learn two things:
See with God’s eyes.
Act on what God says.
